One the most innovative tools in the design industry over the past 30 years is the addition of 3D LIDAR scanning. With extreme precision this high-tech instrument captures all existing visible elements to an overall accuracy of 1/8". The scan data is then assembled together into a single 3D point cloud image consisting of millions of dots. We use these images as a base to create highly accurate "as-built" 2D AutoCAD plans and/or 3D digital models in REVIT for our clients. This serves as the base starting point for any project moving forward. From interiors and exteriors of residential and commercial buildings to entire industrial facilities, 3D LIDAR scanning is the definitive tool for expansions, reconfigurations, topography capture, as-built plans and historical documentation. It is the only way to insure that it will be right the first time - every time!
If it's visible to the naked eye, the 3D scanner can capture it precisely into a 3D point cloud image. These images are used as a base template to create comprehensive plans and digital CAD models of any structure, anywhere!
We provide on-site services:

Cutting Edge 3D uses a Leica BLK360 G2 LIDAR SCANNER and registers the data with Leica Cylone Register 360 software. In addition to the LIDAR, each scan also captures Color 360 Photogrammetry Images (augmented virtual reality much like Google Street View) that serve as a great tool for visual verifications as if you are standing right there looking around.
